Guide to 700 Shows and How to get Invited
Jim Bohannon, host of The Jim Bohannon Show
says "Fran has done it again! Talk Radio Wants you is something
everyone in radio will want!"
this book seeks to bridge the gap between show hosts
and prospective guests, providing a reference guide to roughly 700
talk radio shows mostly in the United States but also around the
world. Entries are organized under categories of show themes, such
as Addiction, and Recovery, Entertainment, Religion, Sports, Travel,
and many more. The book also includes information on many of the
Talkers Magazine's top 250 Radio Talk Shows, interview tips for
radio guests, and tips for conducting a radio interview over the
phone.

 |
Burning Up the Air
about Jerry Williams
|
On pg 30 of the March issue of Boston magazine. Joe Keohane, the
magazine's "Contrarian" columnist, writes:
Long before Imus and Carr, there was Jerry Williams, a talk-radio
pioneer who took aim at the Hub's politicians and the outrages they
trafficked in. This bio (the authors are both former producers for
Williams, who died 2003) makes like quality radio: no cheap
superficiality, or lingering on any one point. Fast-paced and
crisply written, it succeeds at Williams' rise and fall in vivid
historical context. As the host would have wanted, there's no dead
air in this show.

With his biting wit and exceptional intellect, Dennis
Miller's brand of comedy is distinctively his own. His unique blend of
talents has carried him to great success as both a stand-up comedian and
cable talk show host, and even through a stint with ABC's Monday
night Football. But until now, Miller had never tried his hand
at radio. Following in the footsteps of familiar TV talents who've made
the leap to radio, Miller is tackling what he calls "The wide horizons
of radio." behind the microphone on Westwood one's the
Dennis Miller show. Here, the always outspoken Miller tackles a
range of topics from what brought him to radio to why the war on terror
must be won.
